I have been the director of Christian Education for some 10 years.

Now my task includes the joy of welcoming all to Christ Church.

I hope to combine a passion for Jesus with a heart for children and families — and connecting the two. My drive is to help children grow in their faith as they grow in years.

I believe that God's love transforms lives, allowing us to be all that He intended, transformed step by step, more and more into the likeness of his Son, Jesus. I am a parent, grandparent, teacher and people lover!

Director of Church School
Marie Robbins

Marie Robbins was happy to begin coordinating the 9:15-10:15am learning hour for children, toddlers through 8th grade, in the Fall of 2007. Her desire is to invite the children of Christ Church each Sunday to experience the fullness of Christ’s transforming love for them through creative teaching from God’s word and loving shepherding from Christ Church adults who are committed to seeing each child grow in their love and knowledge of our great & awesome God! Marie has been a member of Christ Church for 4 years. She has a BA in Christian Education from Wheaton College, as well as an MA in Educational Theatre from New York University. She taught Bible & Drama to 6th – 8th graders for seven years before joining the program staff at Christ Church. She lives in Aurora with her husband, Curtis, and their two children, Paxton & Marion.

Director of Youth Ministries

Amy Saxbury

Amy Saxbury was born and raised in Austin, TX, the first born of three girls. At the tender age of 11, she prayed to receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior in a Baptist Church. She continued to grow in her faith attending an Episcopal church in Austin and being very involved in her youth group and youth activities diocesan wide. She attended Stephen F Austin State University. She was a volunteer youth pastor at an Episcopal church for 3 years while in college and also led worship for a year at Church on the Rock in Nacogdoches. Upon graduating, she attended a missions training school called Antioch Training School in Waco, TX. After completing the training, she was on staff with the training school (based out of a church called Antioch Community Church) for 4 years. While at the training school, she was able to do missions in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, All over Turkey and Berlin, Germany. Because of her passion for youth, she joined the staff at Christ Church in the summer of 2001 as the Youth Pastor and has continued to this date. In 2005 she was married to a wonderful man and ministry partner, Michael, and in May of 2007, they had their first little boy, Jadyn – their great joy. Her desire to see Jesus made known to students and see them as ambassadors for Christ in the nations is still burning, and they have enjoyed mission trips to Juarez and Guadalajara, Mexico, Berlin, Germany, Recife, Brazil and Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
