IN COMMUNION
leadership

Christ Church stands faithful to the gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed in Scripture, proclaimed and handed on to us in the orthodox teaching and witness of the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church, and embodied in history through the fellowship of bishops and national churches known as the Anglican Communion. We are called to pray for the unity of the church, guard its holiness, agree in what touches all, and persevere in the teaching of the apostles.

Through every challenge of our history, common traditions, interests and affections have drawn Anglicans into a deeper covenant on a global scale. The bonds of our communion have been understood, since the Third Anglican Congress, as a call to “mutual interdependence and responsibility in the Body of Christ”. In search of a new covenant with one another and a new accountability, we welcome the mutual discipline called for in the Windsor Report. We dedicate ourselves to work and pray for the Bishop and Diocese of Colorado, along with the wider Episcopal Church, that we will renew our commitment to the principles, teachings and disciplines of the Communion.

In any event, as articulated recently by the Windsor Report, we will choose to “walk together” with our Anglican brothers and sisters around the world. Our deep desire is to preserve communion and extend relationships with all Christians around the world.
