Treasureland Preschool

Treasureland Director

Treasureland Preschool celebrates the joy of childhood and the power of learning through play. We believe in fostering curiosity, digging in the dirt with good friends, relationship-based early childhood learning, and hands-on exploration as a conduit for children’s discovery of their world, and the incredible value of working together to support young children and their families. Prioritizing relationships since 1956, the staff works to build a learning community and provide a safe space for young children to learn, share, and grow. Enrollment for the 2023 year included 63 children representing 56 families from our surrounding community.

The staff at Treasureland Preschool is exceptionally qualified and embraces best practices in early childhood education. Educators are working through a book study together on Conscious Discipline, our social and emotional curriculum. The teachers provide engaging and in-depth investigations to support critical thinking, problem-solving, independence, and social competence. They nurture curiosity, creativity, cooperation, and inclusion through strong friendships and by modeling the same skills. Treasureland administration continues under the leadership of Mindy Tipton, who received her master’s in early childhood education in May of 2023. Laura Wommack joined the administrative team in April of 2023 and has strengthened the program with her focus on excellence and her care for teachers and families.

Effective retention and recruitment practices are a priority for the leadership team at Treasureland. In order to financially support teachers with continued work during the summer and in response to parent feedback gathered through surveys, Treasureland will implement summer programming for the first time in June and July of 2024. Our intention through this program is to meet the needs of both teachers and families.

We continue to partner with the Denver Preschool Program and became a provider in 2023 for the inaugural year of Universal Preschool, which provides families 15 hours of care per week for students in their year prior to kindergarten.

Treasureland Preschool remains grateful for our partnership and positive relationship with Christ Church.
