Warden's Report

As we look back on the past year, we are deeply grateful for the faithfulness, generosity, and resilience of the Christ Church community. Your commitment to worship, service, and to one another has allowed our ministries to grow and flourish. The Vestry continues to embrace its calling as a discerning leadership body—engaging in prayer, thoughtful discussion, and collaborative decision‑making guided by the Holy Spirit.

Below is a summary of our work over the past year:

  • We explored and adopted models and strategies to bring our budget into balance. These conversations have been prayerful, candid, and collaborative, and we remain committed to a path forward that honors our mission, supports our staff and ministries, and reflects responsible stewardship.

  • We created and approved a 6‑month Operating Reserve Policy, strengthening our financial foundation and providing a buffer that helps ensure long‑term stability.

  • We authorized a facility audit and “campus vision” process with a local architectural firm to begin identifying facility priorities aligned with the Christ Church strategic plan.

  • Members of the Vestry, along with others, participated in a half‑day “Rooted for Good” workshop sponsored by Trinity Wall Street. This program equips churches to assess community needs and engagement strategies, and we look forward to continuing this work in the coming year.

  • We met with representatives from the Outreach Commission, Treasureland Preschool, The Narthex Project, and the Christian Formation department. These conversations helped us better understand the vibrant work underway and discern how best to support these ministries.

  • We compiled and reviewed existing Christ Church policies and began identifying areas where updates or additions may be needed.

  • We updated and approved the Christ Church by‑laws.

  • We authorized a Financial Process Review with Bright and Associates, our accounting firm, and approved their recommended improvements.

  • We participated in a programmatic restructuring of the Music Department and approved the final phase of the organ re‑design.

  • The Vestry engaged as a cohort in reviewing and discussing the Whole‑Life Discipleship Manual of Practice.

As we conclude this year, we give thanks for God’s continued faithfulness. As we welcome new Vestry members in 2026, we look with hope and anticipation toward all that God will do in, for, and through Christ Church to further His kingdom and bless His people.
