The Prayer Ministries at Christ Church exist to connect people more deeply with God and one another through intentional prayer. Rooted in the heartbeat of Jesus’ life, this ministry supports the spiritual well-being of individuals, the parish, and the wider community, nurturing transformation through intercessory, contemplative, and pastoral prayer.
Highlights from the Past Year
This past year, Prayer Ministries continued to offer multiple, meaningful pathways for prayer across our parish. The weekly Prayer Team faithfully gathered to intercede for the needs of our church, community, and world, providing a quiet but powerful foundation of spiritual support. During Sunday worship, lay leaders led the Prayers of the People and offered side-altar prayer during Communion, creating sacred moments of connection, care, and healing.
Our Contemplative Prayer Group remained a steady presence on Saturday mornings, inviting participants into stillness and attentiveness to God’s presence through silent prayer. The Prayer Shawl Ministry continued to be a tangible expression of compassion, with 23 shawls prayerfully knitted and shared with those experiencing illness, loss, or life transitions. Together, these ministries embodied Christ Church’s commitment to prayer as both a personal practice and a shared act of love.
Gratitude & Acknowledgments
This ministry is made possible by dedicated volunteers and leaders who generously give their time and hearts to prayer. We offer deep thanks to our ministry leaders and all who serve by praying, knitting, reading, listening, and showing up faithfully for others in times of need.
Looking Ahead
As we look ahead, we are hopeful for continued growth in participation and awareness of Prayer Ministries at Christ Church. We invite parishioners to explore the opportunities to join in these ministries as participants or volunteers, deepening our shared life of prayer, and continuing to create spaces where people can experience God’s presence, comfort, and guidance together.
