2026 Vestry Candidates

Fran Berry

My name is Fran Berry, and I am currently the Head Verger at Christ Church. In this role I oversee the Worship Ministries as well as serve on the Worship Leadership Team. I develop the outlines (Customaries) for all special services that include the roles and responsibilities of the Verger, Acolytes, Ushers, Chalice Bearers, and Altar Guild. I coordinate, train, and schedule Chalice Bearers for all services, and as a Past Treasurer, I serve on the Finance Committee.

I have participated in Christ Church mission trips to Peru (2019 & 2024) and Honduras (2025). Christian pilgrimages have taken me to Israel and Jordan (“In the Steps of Jesus”), Turkey and Greece (“In the Steps of St. Paul”), Italy (“The Lives of St. Peter and St. Paul in Italy”), Spain (“The Camino do Santiago”), and most recently following St. Paul’s final missionary journey in the Mediterranean.

Outside the church, I have volunteered with Project Angel Heart for 32 years shuttling/delivering meals at no cost to clients living with life-threatening illnesses. Most Saturday mornings find me at the St. Francis Center’s (SFC) Day Shelter working in mail/storage or doing laundry. I also serve on the SFC Board of Directors. I volunteer at Craig Hospital in a variety of roles, most often in the Therapeutic Recreation Department.

I am a widow, having lost my beloved husband, Ken, in 2013 after his prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer. I am a retired mathematics educator having taught at the elementary, secondary, and college levels plus coordinating and directing statewide professional development projects for the National Science Foundation.

Olivia Mullen

My name is Olivia Mullen, and I am thrilled to be a part of Christ Church. I started attending as an adult in 2010, but prior to that my family attended Christ Church when I was a child through 4th grade. I am married to Nate Mullen and we have two young children, Claire, 4 years old starting Kindergarten in the fall, and Read, who is 18 months. I have been an elementary school teacher since 2009, and I’m thrilled that this year I have also been able to take a part-time position as the school’s library/interventionist. I also watch my son and nephew part time. I am involved with the Children’s ministry at Christ Church, including VBS, and I just began helping out with facilities, as well as being a lector during the 10:30 service. I am also a member of the MomCo group. It is my prayer and desire to serve God and the church well and I will continue to strive towards that.

Steve Peterson

Born January 6, 1950 to Norman and Margret Peterson, I was raised in a Christian family being the first born of four siblings (three girls and one boy). I received Christ and was baptized at age 11. Raised in Lakewood, Colorado, I graduated college from Colorado State University in 1972 and married my true love Janie Smith who I had met in 1970 at University. We adopted our only child, Meggan, in 1982 who is married and raising two beautiful children, Benjamin and Belle in Franktown, Colorado.

My career was primarily as president and owner of Coit Services of Colorado, a national franchise. I held this position for 45 years, retiring in December 2024. Janie and I have been members of Christ Church for the past 37 years where we have been serving Jesus and or fellow parishioners in the music and children’s educational departments.
