Christ Church aims to form a community of deeply-committed, whole-life disciples of Jesus for the world. This is how we put action to that vision.
This year saw the rollout of the Whole-Life Discipleship Manual of practice. This is the guiding document that keeps the seven fundamental areas of discipleship in front of us to prompt action and engagement through various formation offerings. Preaching series, scripture studies, and small group work all contribute to developing Whole-Life disciples. This is a process of regular reflection, engagement, and return to move into new depths of growth. The entire congregation gets to hear chapters read each Sunday and many other groups including staff, vestry among others are able to reflect together as they carry out their work.
This is a paradigm that can be adapted by many groups. Fr. Todd has been glad to work with the Women's Group as well as the Outreach Commission to help them engage with the Manual of Practice.
We will continue to offer regular formation offerings directed by the Manual of Practice. Look especially for cohort style, small group offerings that emphasize the communal aspect of personal formation. The opportunity to come alongside one another for mutual support, encouragement, and accountability will help foster spiritual friendship throughout the parish.
